Terpene wheel from our cannabis guides

Learn

Cannabis guides, without the jargon.

The questions we get asked across the counter most often, written out in full. No hype and no mysticism. Just what matters when you are choosing something.

Where to start with these guides

If you are brand new, read the edible dosing guide first. It is the single place people most often get caught out — edibles can take up to two hours to arrive, and the instinct to re-dose after twenty minutes is what turns a pleasant evening into an unpleasant one.

After that, terpenes are the highest-value thing to understand. THC percentage is a surprisingly poor predictor of how something will feel; the terpene profile and the way compounds interact — the entourage effect — matter more. That is the reasoning behind our shop by feel approach, which starts from the effect you want instead of a strain name.

Verifying what you buy

The COA guide is worth ten minutes if you want to check products yourself. Every compliant D.C. product has a certificate of analysis behind it, and we will show you one on request. The FDA’s consumer guidance on cannabis products is a reasonable neutral primer on what testing does and does not tell you.

Then come and ask

Guides are useful but a two-minute conversation usually beats them. Describe what you want out of it and we will match you to something on the shelf today — in store, for pickup, or by same-day delivery. If you are not yet registered, that takes about two minutes.

Questions about our cannabis guides

Who are these cannabis guides for?

Mostly people early in the D.C. medical program who want a straight answer without wading through forum folklore. They are also a decent refresher if you have been away from it a while.

How current are they?

They cover fundamentals — dosing, terpenes, extraction, lab reports — which change far more slowly than product availability. For anything about stock or price, use the live menu.

Can I just ask someone instead?

Yes, and often that is faster. Describe what you want out of it at the counter or over the phone and we will narrow it to two or three options.

Do I need to read these before visiting?

Not at all. Nobody expects homework. They exist for people who like understanding the thing they are buying.
