What to expect from Jack Herer
Energetic first. That scores 9 out of ten for the Jack Herer strain, with happy (9) right behind and creative in the mix. If that's the evening you want, this is a good pick.
Effect scores are the menu's customer-reported ratings, not medical claims. Effects vary by person, dose and product.
On our shop-by-feel page that puts Jack Herer in the Active, Happy and Creative lanes. If you'd rather start from a feeling than a name, that page is the shortcut.
Where Jack Herer comes from
Jack Herer was bred by Sensi Seeds in the 1990s from Haze and a Northern Lights #5 × Shiva Skunk cross, and named after the cannabis activist. A daytime sativa that people have been reaching for for thirty years.
AltSol (Alternative Solutions) grows in the District and supplies most of our flower and the Good Night / Great Day pre-roll packs. Consistent jars, honest lab sheets, and a house style that leans gassy. More on the grower at altsol.co.
When to use it
A daytime strain. Good before doing something, less good before trying to sleep.

Jack Herer strain terpenes and aroma
In the Jack Herer strain beta caryophyllene leads at 0.28%, out of 1.09% total terpenes. Caryophyllene, myrcene and limonene make up most of what you'll smell.
- Beta Caryophyllene 0.28% Smells like: sharp, spice, sweet, wood That spicy, almost woody edge behind the fuel smell is usually caryophyllene.
- Beta Myrcene 0.28% Smells like: earthy, musk, cloves Mango, hops and thyme all carry myrcene. In flower it reads as that damp, musky smell you get when you first open the jar.
- Limonene 0.14% Smells like: citrus, lemon, herbal Limonene shows up in most citrus-smelling strains. People tend to describe those as lifting rather than sedating.
- Beta Pinene 0.12% Smells like: woody, pine Pinene smells like pine trees, which is not a coincidence: it is the most common terpene in nature. People often describe pinene-forward strains as clearer-headed.
- Humulene 0.10% Smells like: herbal, spice, woody, earthy Humulene rarely leads a profile, but it rounds out the earthier strains and keeps the sweet ones from being cloying.
Terpene percentages are from the current batch's certificate of analysis. Our guides explain how to read one and why the total matters more than the THC.
