What to know about edibles in DC

Edibles take between forty-five minutes and two hours to come on, and they last four to eight. The mistake everyone makes once is taking a second piece at the thirty-minute mark. Do not. If you are new, start with 5 mg (half a gummy) and wait the full two hours.

Drinks come on a little faster than gummies. Powders and tinctures faster still. Chocolates and baked goods are the slowest. Whatever you pick, plan to be somewhere comfortable for the evening.

How we stock it

Edibles keep, so we stock a wider range than any other category and it rotates less. The specials are usually on multi-packs and drinks.

Ask for a dosing card at the counter. It is a simple table of milligrams against experience level and it prevents most bad nights.

You need a DC medical registration to buy anything on this page; it is free and takes two minutes on the ABCA patient portal, and our registration guide walks through it. Our guides go deeper on dosing and reading a lab sheet.

Some do (indica, sativa, hybrid) but with edibles the dose matters far more than the type. Choose by milligrams first.
